Crowns of oaks and beeches
Make a warm welcome for wren birds
Kromme Rijn with plenty of fish
Makes a paradise for kingfishers
Sometimes I see them from a distance
Children do a little dance
By the badger tree trunk
Creatives and hikers
Bakers and growers
Or visitors without a plan
Conversations with strangers
Or with acquaintances
Everyone feels like old friends here
From the Hoge Bos to Rhijnauwen
Auburn autumn
Wise winter
Spirited spring
Slumberous summer
And the motorway moves through all seasons
Always the threat of imprudence of people
who do not know of the badger tree trunk
Through the trees
But never higher than the kingly oaks and beeches
