Sometimes I Sit and I Wonder
About the costs of my eternal pursuit of knowledge and how I can use it to change the world
As regular readers of this Substack may know, I have been writing a novel for some years. It's been quite an undertaking, especially since I did not set out to write a full-length story when I began. Although I have been writing stories since I was little, as I wrote about in this guest post, what would turn out to be my biggest and most ambitious story yet actually started out as a collection of my thoughts. Gradually, these pages started coalescing into themes and into characters. By now, I have got far enough into the story to know that I am going to finish it. Then begins the long, difficult road to finding a way to get it published. Thankfully, since I started writing on Substack and seeing how all the wonderful writers on here approach their work, I have come to realise that this newsletter could offer another way to help my book find its audience.
